I am so behind!

I am so behind!  I recently found a journal that I haven't written in in over 8 years and thankfully in that time I have some blogging, but it made me so sad to think of all that I didn't record and I am determined to get caught back up on blogging so I can print out the blog books to remember all these precious days, though they are long and frustrating at the time when I look back it is always with fondness.  I have been reminiscing on when I became a mother because this week my cousin Stephanie had her first baby after enduring a 45 hour labor without any medication.  And I was just reminded of the sacrifice mothers make and sometimes it is hard to remember those days of being pregnant and enduring labor and all those first months that are so hard and yet so magical.  I miss it.  Even though I have done it so many times, but with the twins I had a totally different experience, which changed me for sure and helped me appreciate the miracles that my children are even more, I still long for what could have been if I had carried them full term and nursed them both and not had to worry and stress over feeding and breathing and all issues related to prematurity. But I am sure we are all stronger for the journey we had to take to get the twins to where we are now, thriving, strong, amazing toddlers!  Toddlers, no longer fragile babies, but stubborn, have their own opinions, cranky, sweet, loving little humans!

Halloween 2015

The girls hair on top all fell out!  Little baldies!

I had hoped these princess crowns would work for Halloween for the twins but they were way too big! So they look pretty silly!

I spent most of the day snuggling the twins and then got home to go trick or treating with the big kids.

The twins got moved to nursery B!

This was the twins bed spaces in nursery B.  After being in the intensive care side for 10 weeks it felt so good to get moved to the other side, it was so quiet and so calm feeling, knowing all these babies were just learning to eat so they could go home!  The girls were still on high flow, which normally they don't move them over then, but they were optimistic they would be on a regular cannula soon.  It sure did my heart a lot of good to get over there!
I wished I had more pictures of the kids visiting.  But they only could once a week if everyone was well and it was hard because we had to split up to go in so it was hard to get pictures.  But the love they have for the twins is undeniable!

Comparison photos from birth to now.  AMAZING!

The preemie clothes are starting to look a little small.

Grace's footprints...look how she has grown!

We were able to get in pumpkin carving.

Gwen was moved to an open crib!

Sweet little Gwen was moved to an open crib!!  Such a big step to coming up!  Way to go girl!

Snuggling with Grace.  Look how darling in her tiny sleeper!

Now Gwen's turn for some snuggles.  Days where I had enough time to hold both were my favorite!

Trying out their other headbands.  So darling!!
