Memorial Day 2012

On Memorial Day we had a BBQ at Mark and Kathy's house, but before we went there we stopped at the cemetery to visit Dad's grave real quick.  It was so busy and we didn't stay very long, but I like to remind my kids about their Grandpa.  We sure miss you Dad!

We got invited by Mary (Natalie's mom) to go with her and some of her neighbors to their family's house up Hobble Creek Canyon to see a brand new foal.  The kids were so excited, especially Hannah and they were in heaven the whole time.  They let the kids right in there to pet the horse and then let them sit bareback on the mother horse, and then pulled out another horse and saddled it up and they got to take rides around the pasture.  I was so jealous, I wanted to ride too, but didn't get the chance being pregnant and all.  They also had a litter of kittens that kept the kids entertained while they waited their turn to ride the horse.  It was such a fun morning!  I seriously think this is the life my kids were meant to live....too bad we aren't farmers.  We are so lucky to have good friends to invite us along!

Hannah's first grade class had a big Red Carpet celebration the last day of school where they showed a movie they had made about what they had learned this year.  They even had popcorn and treats and Mrs. Loose handed out awards to all the kids.  Hannah got the "Best Hugs" award, there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't give Mrs. Loose a huge hug!  I could tell Hannah was trying to keep her emotions in check that day, she was really sad about school ending but trying not to show it.  We were the absolute last people out of the class that day and she just kept hugging her teacher.  When we made it to the car she broke down and just cried and cried.  She really had such a great teacher and a great class, hopefully next year will be just as great!

Hannah's Family Party at the Park

For Hannah's party we combined families and met at the park by our house.  We just got pizza and had fruit and cupcakes and ice cream.  I think it was a lot of fun, the kids had plenty of entertainment and it was nice weather for the adults to sit and visit.  Hannah got some great gifts from the family, thank you all so much!  Happy 7th Birthday Hannah!
