Bringing in 2012

On New Year's Eve we went to Ryan and Melinda's house and hung out. We played games and ate food and danced our hearts out (well some of us did)! Rhett and Heather brought over their X-box kinect and it had a dance game that some of us got pretty into. It was a lot of fun! Ryan and Rob also went and bought some fireworks and put on quite the fireworks show, it was pretty sweet! The older two loved staying up so late and luckily we put the younger two to bed at Melinda's so they we didn't have to worry about their crankiness. I do think watching fireworks in July is a lot better though, so much warmer!

The next day, New Year's Day we celebrated Grandma Shan's 74th birthday. Aunt Michelle, Jenica, Jon, and their kids came over to Ryan's house for some cake and we watched a slideshow of pictures of Grandma that Ryan had put together.

Grandpa can never be serious! And right after this he dipped his chip in the chocolate frosting on the cake.

We sure love Grandma and Grandpa and it is sad to watch age take its toll, especially on Grandma who is already suffering from dementia. We sure love that sweet lady and hope for the best for her in her coming years.

We had a great time at Grandma and Grandpas. We ate food, opened presents, played, laughed, talked, and the kids went wild! It was a great day spent with family and a great reminder of how truly blessed we are.

Christmas Morning 2011

Santa Came!!

Maddy wouldn't sit with everyone, we woke her up so she was a tad grumpy!

Megan got her Rapunzel doll she asked Santa for!

And Hannah got her Easy Bake oven!

The girls also got aprons because they love to help out in the kitchen.

The kids all got some new books, Wyatt was ready to start reading Thomas right away!

And I got Rob a home theater system, complete with a new blu-ray player. Does he look excited? I totally surprised him, it was fun! Rob got me a Kindle Fire, I am loving it! And so are the kids, we all fight over it!

It was a great morning! The kids were spoiled and got fun toys and games, movies and books! It will keep us busy for a while and give us some motivation to clear out some of the old stuff we don't play with anymore.

Christmas Eve 2011

We got home from the Gatrell's and opened up our Christmas pajamas. Wyatt was really excited to get Thomas jammies and Maddy loved her princess ones too! The older girls liked theirs too, a plus! We then got to the cookie making and a few of the best were picked out to leave for Santa with some egg nog. We had been doing a 12 days of Christmas where I had wrapped a Christmas book to open each day and a present, which were all the pieces to a Little People Nativity set. We finished up our last book and opened up the baby Jesus that went to the set. We also read the Christmas Story from the Bible and then got everyone ready for bed. Once they were all in bed I still had some work to finish and Rob got working on wrapping. When I was done I headed up to help Rob, but really he did most of it. I was feeling horrible and spent most of the night in the bathroom or curled up in bed while he went to work getting everything ready. Thanks Rob for all your hard work!

Christmas Eve Breakfast at Cracker Barrell

One of our waitresses developed quite a crush of sorts on Jason...it made for an entertaining experience for sure! Can we say akward!!
