On October 9, 2015 Grace was moved to an open crib! One step closer to coming home!!
Dinner with Uncle Jerry while he was in town for business.
On the same night we had a scare with both the girls, Grace had pulled out her feeding tube during a feeding and they were worried she may have aspirated some into her lungs, which could cause pneumonia. They suctioned her all out and we hoped for the best. It was so scary.
And then they noticed Gwen seemed lethargic and not feeling well and they were worried about her having an infection. They did an x-ray which showed a possible obstruction in her bowel, which they were worried could be NEC which is so scary to deal with, could mean surgery and lots of other things. They stopped her feedings and put in a PICC line to start the TPN again while they waited to see if the suspicious area would resolve.
Thanksfully, the suspicious area cleared up and they were able to resume foods within a few days, but they did do an antibiotic course just in case as well. And Grace never had any problems develop from her little incident too. It was such a hard night, we were so scared.
